I changed my hydraulic oil and refilled with 7.5 gallons like the manual says. I checked and now reads about 1/4 of an inch above the fill line. I removed both drain plugs and replaced both of the filters, was manual wrong on the refill amount? Unit is hydrastic drive.

That sounds close enough for me.
When you run the front-loader or any other hydraulic tool that level will bounce all over the map as you pump fluid back and forth.
There is a lot of slop in the system, that extra pint of fluid won't matter. ....
